Frequently asked questions

The questions the board hears most. Don't see yours? Ask us.

Is membership in the homes association optional?

No. Every home in Greystone Estates West is part of the association under the recorded Declaration, and dues are required for every lot.

When are dues due, and how much are they?

Dues are $780 per year and due by June 1. See the Dues page for what they cover and how to pay.

When is the pool open, and how do I get in?

The pool, at 7601 Caenen Lake Rd, is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. You get in with a pool key; if you need one, contact Marty Metz, who chairs the Pool Committee. There is no lifeguard. See Pool and courts for guest rules and the pool rules.

Can I reserve the tennis/pickleball or basketball court?

No. Both courts are first come, first served, and both are just east of 13415 W 78th St. The tennis/pickleball court is open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and has lights. It is lined for both tennis and pickleball, and the nets are provided, so just bring your racket or paddle and balls. The basketball court is open dawn to dusk and has no lights.

Who picks up trash, and when?

KC Disposal collects trash and recycling every Thursday. Service is coordinated by the association and is opt-in, with an additional fee owed at the same time as the annual dues. To order an extra trash or recycling cart, or if a pickup is missed, email KC Disposal at hoa@kansascitydisposal.com. More details are on the Residents page.

How do I contact the board?

Email hoa.greystoneestateswest@gmail.com. Board members' phone numbers are all listed in the Young Management Group homeowner portal. For anything involving a deadline or a covenant question, please write rather than call, so there is a record.

How do neighborhood votes work?

Votes, such as board elections and covenant questions, are taken in accordance with the association's Bylaws and Declaration. They are held online: each home receives a personal voting link by email, and one vote per home is counted. Results are posted once voting closes.

I'm selling my home. What does my title company need?

Request a status letter (also called a resale certificate) from Young Management Group through their homeowner portal. There is no fee. See Buying or selling.

Can I see the association's records?

Yes. The association's records, including the governing documents, budgets, financial summaries and meeting minutes, are all available in the Young Management Group homeowner portal. See the Documents page for the link.
